What it means to ride without a license
In tourist use, “without a license” usually refers to hourly rental within an organized activity. The company explains how to ride, provides the mandatory gear and sets the permitted route.
Jet ski regulations distinguish between private use, daily rental and hourly rental. In the latter, the rider may not need their own qualification when the activity takes place on a circuit or group excursion under the conditions required of the company.
Important. This guide is informational. The company, its insurer and the relevant Harbour Master’s Office may set stricter conditions depending on the area, weather, age or type of jet ski.
The limits you should not cross
The common mistake is thinking that no license means you can improvise. It is almost the opposite: the experience is simple because it is kept within limits.
No license, Navigation License or PER
If you just want to try a jet ski on holiday, the no-license guided option is usually enough. If you want freedom, more power or to rent for several days, look into licenses.
