The best time of year for jet skiing in Spain
You can ride a jet ski in Spain for a good chunk of the year, but the experience - and the price - changes with the season. Here is how the calendar looks, from water temperature to crowds.
Season by season
- April - May: mild water, few crowds and low prices. A wetsuit helps early on.
- June: warm sea, long days and prices still reasonable - one of the best months.
- July - August: peak season. Warmest water, but the busiest bases and the highest prices.
- September: the sea is at its warmest after summer, with fewer people and softer prices - the other sweet spot.
- October: still pleasant in the south and the islands; book ahead as some bases wind down.
North vs south and islands
On the Mediterranean and in the Canary Islands the season is long and the water calm. On the Atlantic north (Galicia, Asturias, the Basque coast) the window is shorter and the sea state matters more, so confirm conditions on the day.
The sweet spot: June and September
If you can choose, aim for June or September: warm water, more availability and lower prices than the August peak, with the same sunshine.

Frequently asked questions
Is the water warm enough in spring?
By late May it is comfortable in the south and the islands; earlier in the year a short wetsuit makes it more enjoyable.
When is it cheapest?
Outside July and August. June and September offer warm water at lower prices, and shoulder months are cheaper still.
Can I ride in winter?
In the Canary Islands and parts of the south, yes, on calm days. Elsewhere many bases pause in winter.
